1,999 at 35% off is about ₹1,299. You save ₹700. A further 5% coupon is on 1,299, not on 1,999, if you use the extra box.

Common mistakes

• Applying two discounts on the original MRP. Most coupons sit on the sale price.
• Forgetting GST still sits on the discounted taxable value in shops.
• Bank offer not typed, then arguing with the cashier.
